Recruiting: It’s the final countdown …
The class sits at 18 commitments as of Tuesday night, with a few final options remaining to round out the class.
While Mark Dantonio and his staff would be content sitting with the present group, three main targets remaining uncommitted and will make their decisions tomorrow (all have said they will announce at 10 a.m.).
Here are my predictions on their destinations:
Offensive tackle Kyle Dodson: Ohio State. The one-time Wisconsin commitment visited East Lansing, but ultimately the odds are he ends up in Columbus as a Buckeye or right back with Wisconsin.
The Cleveland native has been rumored consistently to be an Ohio State lean since he reopened his recruiting. The Izzone tried hard with this guy, chanting “We Want Dodson” during his official visit to EL.
Defensive tackle Terrell Jackson: He will be a Spartan — assuming there is space.
Sounds like Michigan State is his “dream school” based on this tweet. He reportedly is down to a final three: MSU, Illinois and Pitt. Iowa is out of the running. It is possible Cincinnati still is in the mix, too — per Matt Dorsey.
Defensive end JaMichael Winston: Arkansas. Originally an Arkansas commitment, the 6-foot-6 defensive end should remain a Razorback.
He visited East Lansing last weekend, and he also visited Clemson. But he is from Alabama, and LIKELY doesn’t want to head all the way north to East Lansing. Clemson has a shot at landing him as well, as they just hired a new defensive coordinator from Oklahoma (Brent Venables).
