MSU commit Harris named a McDonald’s All-American
Michigan State commit Gary Harris (Hamilton Southeastern, Ind.) was named to the McDonald’s All-American team Thursday.
The game will be played on March 28 at the United Center in Chicago.
Harris is MSU’s 15th McDonald’s All-American, and Tom Izzo’s 11th — and the third class in a row with a member of the game (Keith Appling, Branden Dawson).
Harris is rated the No. 3 shooting guard in the nation, and the 25th-best player overall by Rivals.com.
Last week, Harris was named to the Jordan Brand Classic.
Two other Michigan State recruits were among the finalists.
Matt Costello (Bay City Western) and Denzel Valentine (Lansing Sexton), who round out the rest of the 2012 class with Kenny Kaminski (Medina, Ohio), did not make the final cut for the All-American game.
Appling’s offense needs to be more consistent, and his defense remains huge in this one for MSU against Frazier.
