Brother Rice linebacker Reschke verbals to MSU
Michigan State picked up its second verbal commitment of the 2013 class Friday, and it was a big one.
Four-star linebacker Jon Reschke, of Birmingham Brother Rice, announced his decision to become a Spartan.
“Just joined the Spartan family. COMMITTED TO MICHIGAN STATE!!!!” Reschke tweeted Friday afternoon.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pound linebacker also had an offer from Toledo, which is only because of the early commitment he made and not because of a lack of talent. He would have picked up plenty of offers in the coming months if not for this verbal commitment.
Per MI Prep Zone, Reschke had 140 tackles as a junior, helping lead Brother Rice to a state championship. He is ranked a four-star recruit by Rivals, Scout and 247sports.
The Spartans first verbal commitment came almost two weeks ago from Flint Carman-Ainsworth running back Gerald Holmes.
Michigan State will have a junior day on Feb. 25 at which point another commitment or two could come, as many offers will be given with those players on campus.
